    Rebecca Smith serves as our Athletic Director which oversees the operations of our athletic programs and facilities. Rebecca earned her Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee Knoxville as well as her Masters in Secondary Education. She obtained her ED.S degree in Instructional Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.

     

    Rebecca Smith has been a Knox County Employee since 2013. She previously served as a teacher in Hamblen County. Rebecca has served Halls High School as a social studies teacher from 2013-2022. Throughout her teaching career, Rebecca has acquired more leadership roles within the school.  She was the staff leadership council president for 4 years and was awarded teacher of the year as well as the Rotary Club Educator of the year. In 2021, Rebecca transitioned to the Athletic Director position. With her athletic and leadership background, she is focused on promoting student athletes in the classroom and in competition. Her goal is to inspire a student and staff athletic culture that is dedicated to excellence.

     

    Rebecca is married to Marine Corps veteran Nathan Smith and has one child in Halls Elementary School. She is dedicated to her community and to the success of its students.
