The AP Exam ordering process is changing this year, and many new and exciting features are available to help students prepare for the exam. Visit for more information.

What is the timeline for ordering exams?

Any student enrolled in an AP Course at Carter in the Spring of 2020 MUST order their exam by February 28. Orders recieved after the final deadline may incur a $40 late fee per exam. ORDER and PAY EARLY!

How do I order an exam?
Order forms and financial aid applications are available from Ms. Davenport or by clicking here. You must print the form and bring it to Ms. Davenport in the library.

How much are the exams? What about financial aid?

The cost of each exam is $94.* If you are honestly able to pay this amount, we ask that you do. If this is cost a financial hardship, simply complete the attached financial aid form and describe your need. This information is kept confidential. If you apply for aid in the fall and also need to order exams in the spring, your application will carry over into the new semester. Once you have been approved for financial assistance, your student will recieve written confirmation and monies can be paid.

If you pay through School Cash Online, the cost of the exam will be $98 (full price) and $25 (reduced price) to cover surcharge fees.

How do I pay for exams?

To pay for exams, you may send a check (Made out to Carter High School with your student's name and exam(s) in the Memo line), money order, or exact cash to Ms. Davenport. Payments for exams may also be made online through the School Cash Online System. NOTE: due to the fees incurred with this system, the cost for exams will be higher to make sure all the money due to College Board is recieved.  (These fee surcharges are subject to change). If you are paying for multiple students, you may send one check, just include relevant info on the memo line.

What if I don't want to take the exam?

If after all your hard work in the class, you do not want to take the exam, you must complete an Opt Out form stating your desire to not take the exam. This form is available in the library or online. This form must be signed by the student, teacher, parent/guardian and their counselor. Ms. Davenport MUST have a physical opt out form in hand in order to mark the student to NO in the test ordering database. If no opt out form is recieved, it will be assumed you are taking the exam and you will be billed for it, even if it incurs a late charge. The purpose of this form is to ensure all parents are aware that their child is not taking an AP exam so there are no misunderstandings or surprises on test ordering deadlline day or the actual test date.
