Volunteer Opportunities at Carter Elementary
Workroom helper- Volunteers will work in the main office mailroom helping to create instructional materials for students. This includes photocopies, laminating, poster-making, and other clerical roles.
Independent Book Review filming- Volunteers will help students create 2 minute videos of their previously written book review.
Film editing- Volunteers would edit student book review videos using district provided software or software of their choice. **This can be done off-campus.
Clinic volunteer- Volunteers would staff the school clinic during the lunch hour. Volunteers would be responsible for providing band-aids, ice, and notifying appropriate personnel for medical situations.
Backpack buddy- Volunteers would transport food prepared at PSCC to Carter Elementary and assist staff in organizing it for delivery to students.
Science Lab helper- Volunteers would assist the science teacher (primary in the morning, intermediate in the afternoon) during 50-minute science labs.
Library helper- Volunteers would shelve books that have previously been checked out into the school library.
Community event helper- Volunteers are need to support our PTO events including a holiday bazaar, box-top collections, fundraisers, and spring movie night.
Small group leader- Volunteers would like a group of 2-6 students in a teacher-prepared activity for 30 minutes during the day. All grades available.
Science Fair- Volunteers would judge 3, 4, and 5 grade science fair projects in the spring.
