    Art Club: Students who show strong performance in art class are invited to have dedicated time to work on personal projects using preferred mediums with individual tutoring from Mr. Peevely. 

    Beta Club: The National Beta Club is an organization that recognizes high academic achievement, promotes character, and social responsibility, encourages service involvement to their school and community, fosters leadership skills, and provides settings for your child to develop interpersonal relationship skills.  

    Cherokee Singers: Auditioned group of 7th and 8th Grade Chorus members.

    Environmental Club: The club works to continue recycling at the school, enhance the school through gardening, educate the students and teachers on ways to save & conserve the environment.

    Geography Bee: Students work together to compete in competitions on the state and local level covering various geography topics. 

    Girls Inc.: Science Olympiad experiment-based club in the fall and a self-defense based curriculum in the spring.

    Girls Who Code: Our curriculum is designed for students with a wide range of computer science experience. We have activities for girls with zero computer science experience all the way up to activities that introduce college-level concepts. The broad set of soft and hard skills we teach are teamwork, confidence, time management, communication, functions, variables, conditionals, loops, and more.     Literary Magazine: We form collections of poems, short stories, art, and other student creations to create a school magazine at the end of the year.

    Musical Theater: Auditioned group of Chorus students that make up the musical cast and any student in the school who has applied for, and been accepted as a member of the backstage crew.

    Project LIT: The SDMS chapter of Project LIT functions as a book club that meets biweekly, weekly, or monthly during homeroom depending on the length and complexity of the book we are reading. We aim to provide students with culturally relevant texts that include diverse characters written by authors from diverse backgrounds. Contact Tiffany Fluharty for more information

    Student Government (SGA): Students working together to solve issues in the school and out in our community. Contact Elizabeth Smith for more information.

    Yoke: Fun, games, fellowship, and ministry for middle school students with area church leaders.
