The Coding Club
The Coding Club brings together 6th, 7th and 8th graders who are interested in learning more about computer coding. Initially drawing on their desire to play and learn how to create their own video games. Students will engage in programs such as MIT’s Scratch and include programming languages, such as Java in a fun and engaging way.
The goal of the Coding Club is to give students the opportunity to think about how coding may lead students down a more employable path in today’s technology driven world. Developing an understanding of the problem solving process leads to critical thinking of cause and effect. The core of coding programs is cause and effect.
