  • Carter Schools Community Meeting
    Carter High, Carter Middle & Carter Elementary principals will be hosting a Carter Schools Community Meeting to discuss and review the Knox County Schools balanced calendar proposal on Thursday, March 26th, at 6:00pm. This meeting will be held at Carter High School. More information will be sent home prior to the meeting.

  • Dr. Suess Dress Up Days


    To honor the beloved author, Dr. Seuss, we encourage the Carter Elementary students and staff to participate in book-themed dress up days the week of March 2-6

    Monday- Smile Day

    Tuesday- Fox in Socks- Wild and Wacky Sock Day

    Wednesday- Wacky Wednesday- Backwards, MisMatched Clothes Day

    Thursday- The Cat in the Hat- Red and Black day

    Friday-The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins- Silly Hat Day

  • Book Bingo Night 
    Our annual Book Bingo Night is scheduled for Thursday, March 5th. Reservation forms will be sent home on Monday, March 2nd. Please return your dinner and bingo reservations by Wednesday, March 4th. Thank You!

  •  Ticket to Read at Home!

    Ticket to Read is now available on iPad and any computer that is connected to the internet. Carter students love Ticket to ReadTicket to Read is a self-paced, student-centered online reading program for students in grades K–5 that provides extended practice to improve reading performance. The program is completely free to any Carter Elementary student. The Ticket to Read program was purchased through Carter Elementary's Title I funds for the 2014-2015 school year and will be available until July 31, 2015.


    Visit the app store on your iPad device and search for Ticket to Read. You can access the online version at Your child will need his or her personal student ID to access this free program. Every student uses their personal student ID as their password to access the site.  The username will be s followed by the student ID. If you have any issues accessing the site please let your child's teacher know.
