  • FLIGHT PLAN

     

    The Knox County Board of Education is seeking a Student Representative as a non-voting member of the board.  This position is to be filled annually by a Knox County high school senior.  If you are interested in filling this position, please pick up an application in the HVA front office.  Applications are due by Thursday, March 23, 2017.

     

    Youth Leadership Knoxville is a program that gives area high school students a chance to enhance their knowledge of Knoxville and develop leadership skills that will encourage and motivate them to become involved and committed to their community.  Students of Knox County high schools who will be Juniors during the upcoming 2017-18 school year are eligible to apply.  Applications are available in the HVA front office or on the Board of Education webpage.  Applications are due by Friday, March 24, 2017 at Noon.

     

     

     

    Volunteers are needed for the 19th Annual Spring Community Cleanup on Hardin Valley, Hickory Creek, Steele, Marietta Church & East Gallaher Ferry Roads on Saturday, March 25th, 9 a.m. to Noon (Come when you can).  Pick up gloves, trash bags, and safety vests at the Food City Parking Lot or the Hardin Valley Community Center on Hickory Creek Road.

     

    The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is accepting nominations for 40 qualified high school students interested in attending the SAME/Army Engineering and Construction Camp,  in Vicksburg, MS, June 11-17. Students will engage in hands-on engineering and construction activities under the mentorship and supervision of SAME professionals and other volunteers from the local engineering community. More information is available here.

     

    Prom tickets are on sale during lunch and at the front desk. They are $35. Please pay in check or exact change. Prom is April 8th at the Grande Event Center!

     

    HVA Girls Who Code will resume meeting on Monday, March 27.  New members are welcome
