  • FLIGHT PLAN

     

    Prom tickets are on sale during lunch and at the front desk. They are now $50. Please pay in check or exact change. Prom is April 8th at the Grande Event Center!  Last day to buy prom tickets is Tuesday, April 4th.

    Senior Brunch will be at the Knoxville Marriott on May 16, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.  This is BEFORE graduation practice at noon.  Seniors, don't forget to pay your fee to attend the Senior Brunch.  $20 gets you a delicious meal at the Knoxville Marriott with all your friends!  Don't miss out!  The deadline for payment is May 10!

     

    The HVA Constitution Bowl team is going to hold an interest meeting on Thursday, April 6, 2017 right after school in Room F102.

     

    Any students interested in auditioning for the HVA Advanced Orchestra Ensemble, please see Ms. Jones in B-103.  Thank you!

     

    The HVA Dance Team will have tryouts the week of April 25.  Informational packets are in the office and in Coach Crateau's Room D106.  Also grab the flyer for the free clinic where you will learn all you need to know for tryouts.  We hope to see you soon!!!

    HVA Boys Tennis is now 3-0 with a 7-2 win over Oak Ridge.  Congrats to Brandon Chu for his 50th match win.  Next match:  HVA Boys and Girls play at Heritage on Wednesday, March 29th.

     

    If you applied to volunteer for Special Olympics Track and Field, you MUST stop by Room D109 and check the list to see if you were selected.  Reminder:  If you were selected, you must attend the mandatory meeting Wednesday, April 5th at 7:45 AM or 3:30 PM.  Failure to attend will result in removal from the volunteer list.

     

    Congratulations to Breanna Piercy who has received a full scholarship to study Chinese in Shanghai, China this summer awarded by the US Department of the State National Security Language Initiative Program.

     

    Here's the latest in Banking news...your friends at The Hawks' Nest Egg are holding a Shoe Drive to benefit local charities. Many of you have a pair of shoes you haven't worn for several years Here's a chance to clear them out of your closet!  Just bring them to The Hawks' Nest Egg. They will be given to organizations that need them. Thanks for your help in the Shoe Drive!

     

    Metro Drug Coalition is recruiting students to participate in the Youth Metro Drug Coalition (YMDC) for the 2017-18 school year.  YMDC is open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors from Knox County.  YMDC will be a youth-led "community roundtable" on drug and alcohol prevention, providing a safe place to discuss the issues teens in their communities are facing, cultivating a sense of community amongst their peers and developing prevention strategies to implement in order to engage teens and reduce present youth substance use.  If you have a personal connection to addiction or a passion for substance abuse prevention, please see your School Counselor or Mrs. Reynolds to submit your name as a possible member of the Youth Metro Drug Coalition.  Names need to be submitted before April 28, 2017.

     

    The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) is accepting nominations for 40 qualified high school students interested in attending the SAME/Army Engineering and Construction Camp,  in Vicksburg, MS, June 11-17. Students will engage in hands-on engineering and construction activities under the mentorship and supervision of SAME professionals and other volunteers from the local engineering community.
