Knox County Schools’ Magnet Showcase Set for Oct. 19

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 11, 2016 – The ninth annual Knox County Schools Magnet Showcase will be held 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, from at The Standard (416 W. Jackson Avenue). Free parking for the showcase is available beginning at 6 p.m. in the Jackson Avenue parking lot, located directly across from The Standard.
 
The showcase will give students, parents and community members the opportunity to learn Knox County’s magnet schools.
 
At the showcase, representatives from each magnet school will be available to share information and answer any questions about their school. Additionally, each school will provide a live demonstration illustrating something unique about their program.
 
Visiting parents and students can complete transfer applications with the assistance of representatives from the Knox County Schools Enrollment and Transportation departments during the showcase. Transfer request forms are also available online and at magnet school locations.

Middle Schools
High Schools
 
At no cost to Knox County families, these provide unique learning opportunities in specific areas or themes not offered in full at other Knox County Schools. Magnet programs are committed to increasing educational opportunities for students while promoting students’ interests, abilities and talents.
 
Please note that two or more members of the Board of Education may be present at the Magnet Showcase.
