Knox County Schools Kicks Off 2016 School Coupon Book Campaign

Knox County Schools will kick off its annual coupon book sales campaign at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, with a Super Hero-themed event at Bonny Kate Elementary School, located at 7608 Martin Mill Pike.

Officials are hoping this will be the most successful campaign to date, exceeding last year’s revenue of $1.4 million. This year’s book has 363 coupons, including 31 new merchants, representing a total savings of more than $11,500!

Knox County’s campaign is one of the most successful in the nation. After 28 years, the cost is still only $10. Of that amount, $8 stays at the school where sold and most of the remaining dollars are spread out across the system.

At the event, the following sponsors will be recognized:
  • Presenting sponsor - Rusty Wallace Automotive
  • Major sponsors - First Tennessee Bank, Junk Bee Gone, Stanley Steemer and the UPS Store

In addition, last year’s top-selling students will be acknowledged.

Coupon book revenue provides much-needed funding for school needs identified by parents, teachers and school administrators. Examples include technology and new program materials. The campaign will run through Tuesday, Sept. 27. Community members can buy books at all Knox County Schools or by calling the Knox County Schools main line at 594-1905.
