Mentor 2.0 Needs You!

South-Doyle High School has formed a partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee to provide mentoring to students who are interested in exploring postsecondary opportunities. The initial group will include 50-75 South-Doyle freshmen, and the goal is to add a new group each year. To pull this off, however, we need YOU! We are looking for individuals who can guide students in their exploration of college options, entrance requirements, resume building, and college readiness. For students who are first generation college goers, this system is a lifeline. College readiness and enrollment can be a difficult process to navigate, and this is especially true for students whose family is unfamiliar with the process. This program is designed to fill that gap.

The mentoring commitment will involve weekly emails and monthly in-person meetings. Students will also attend weekly classes that covers pertinent topics like time management and college readiness. South-Doyle High School is searching for a number of mentors to help build this program, and we are hoping you can help. Please consider taking the time to invest in one of our students. We can assure you that the impact will be tremendous, and the future is looking bright!
