Knox County Schools Opens Transfer Window for Magnet and General Transfers, Announces Open House

Parents may now request magnet or general transfers within the Knox County Schools for the 2016-17 school year. The transfer window is open through 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.

Transfer applications are available online and at the Transfers and Enrollment Office, 912 S. Gay Street. Magnet schools transfer applications also are available at magnet school locations. For more information about transfers, visit the Knox County Schools website and refer to the revised Knox County Schools policy or contact the Transfers and Enrollment Office at 865-594-1506. After the February 16 closing, the window for both magnet and general transfers will reopen May 1, 2016, for new students, those with address changes and other specific categories.

The Knox County Schools has nine magnet schools:

Elementary Schools

Middle Schools

High Schools

Additionally, a Magnet Showcase Open House will be held on Thursday, Oct. 15 from 6-7:30 p.m. at The Standard (416 W. Jackson Avenue). The showcase gives students, parents and community members an opportunity to learn about all nine magnet schools in the Knox County Schools.

At the showcase, each magnet school will have information available about the school's program, eligibility and more. Students and parents can also complete transfer applications with the assistance of representatives from the Knox County Schools Enrollment and Transportation departments.
