Reggie Mosley is Appointed Principal at Farragut Intermediate School
 
Reggie Mosley has been appointed Principal at Farragut Intermediate School. Mr. Mosley is currently the Principal at Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Technology Academy. He joined the Knoxville City Schools in 1985 as a teacher at Pond Gap Elementary School, and he has served in a number of teaching positions in both the former city school system and the Knox County Schools. He was appointed to be an assistant principal at Vine Middle Magnet School in 1998 and also served as an assistant principal at Blue Grass Elementary School prior to being appointed as the Principal at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School in 2003. From 2008-2012, Mr. Mosley served as the Principal at Blue Grass Elementary School.

Mr. Mosley holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Knoxville College as well as a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Education Specialist degree in Education Administration from Lincoln Memorial University.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Megan O’Dell is Appointed Principal at Shannondale Elementary School
 
Megan O’Dell has been named Principal at Shannondale Elementary School. Ms. O’Dell is currently a fellow in the Leadership Academy and an assistant principal at Northshore Elementary School. She joined the Knox County Schools in 2004 as a teacher at East Knox County Elementary School. She has also served as a teacher at Sunnyview Primary School, a TAP Master Teacher at Sarah Moore Greene Elementary School and a Curriculum Coach at South Knoxville Elementary School. Ms. O’Dell entered school administration in 2012 when she was appointed as an assistant principal at Brickey-McCloud Elementary School. 

Ms. O’Dell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Carson-Newman University, a Master of Arts degree in Education from Tusculum College and will receive an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee upon completion of the Leadership Academy.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Kim Cullom is Appointed Principal at Maynard Elementary School
 
Kim Cullom has been appointed Principal at Maynard Elementary School. Ms. Cullom is currently the Principal at Gap Creek Elementary School where she has served since 2012. She joined the Knox County Schools in 1991 as a speech and language pathologist and has also served as an administrative assistant at A.L. Lotts and East Knox County Elementary School. She previously served as an assistant principal at Dogwood Elementary School and has extensive experience teaching in Georgia and Ohio. Coincidentally, Ms. Cullom’s grandfather was a teacher at Maynard Elementary School for 27 years.

Ms. Cullom holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in Speech Pathology from the University of Tennessee and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
  
 
Sharon Yarbrough is Appointed Principal at Amherst Elementary School
 
Sharon Yarbrough has been tapped as Principal at Amherst Elementary School. Ms. Yarbrough has been serving as the interim principal at Amherst since January 2014. She joined the Knoxville City Schools in 1986 as a reading and math teacher at South Knoxville Elementary School. Ms. Yarbrough has also served as a teacher at Ridgedale Elementary School, Green Magnet Math and Science Academy and Amherst Elementary School. Prior to being appointed as interim principal, Ms. Yarbrough served as an assistant principal at Amherst Elementary School from 2007-2013.

Ms. Yarbrough holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Tennessee Technological University and a Master of Education degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Christine Oehler is Appointed Principal at Powell Middle School
 
Christine Oehler has been named Principal at Powell Middle School. Ms. Oehler is currently the Principal at Cedar Bluff Middle School. She began teaching in Bledsoe County, Tennessee, and joined the Knox County Schools in 1990 as a teacher at Doyle Middle School. She has also taught at Bearden Middle School, and Ms. Oehler entered school administration when she was appointed an assistant principal at Farragut Middle School in 2003. She was appointed principal at Cedar Bluff Middle School in 2009.

Ms. Oehler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Bryan College, a Master of Arts degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee Technological University and an Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University.
 
 
 
 
 
Susan Espiritu is Appointed Principal at Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Technology Academy
 
Susan Espiritu has been named Principal at Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Technology Academy. Ms. Espiritu is currently the Principal at Pond Gap Elementary School where she has served since 2004. She began her career with Knoxville City Schools in 1979 as a teacher at Belle Morris Elementary School. Ms. Espiritu has also served as a teacher at Northwest Middle, Spring Hill Elementary, Beaumont Elementary, and Gibbs Elementary schools. In addition to serving as a teacher, Ms. Espiritu was a Curriculum and Instruction Facilitator at West View Elementary School. She entered school administration when she was appointed an assistant principal at Karns Elementary School in 2003.

Ms. Espiritu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Science degree in Administration both conferred by the University of Tennessee. She also holds an Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Terry Nieporte is Appointed Principal at Cedar Bluff Middle School
 
Terry Nieporte will serve as Principal at Cedar Bluff Middle School. Ms. Nieporte is currently an assistant principal at Halls Middle School where she has served since 2011. She joined the Knox County Schools in 1993 as a teacher at Anderson Elementary School. She has also taught at Dogwood Elementary School and South-Doyle Middle School. In 2009 she also served as a mathematics coach at South-Doyle Middle School. Ms. Nieporte is a graduate of the first class (2010) of the Leadership Academy during which time she also served as an assistant principal at Vine Middle School.

Ms. Nieporte holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from East Tennessee State University, a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Carson- Newman University and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Dr. Chad Smith is Appointed Principal at Carter Middle School
 
Dr. Chad Smith has been named Principal at Carter Middle School. Dr. Smith is currently an assistant principal at Carter High School. He joined the Knox County Schools in 2001 as a teacher at South-Doyle High School where he served until his appointment as an assistant principal at Carter High School in 2011.

Dr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision all conferred by Tennessee Technological University. Jessica Holman is Appointed Principal at Inskip Elementary School
 
Jessica Holman has been appointed Principal at Inskip Elementary School. In 2013, Ms. Holman was appointed interim Principal at Inskip while Principal Elisa Luna took a leave of absence for medical reasons. Dr. Luna has since been appointed to the position of Principal Support Specialist and Community Schools Liaison for the Knox County Schools.

Ms. Holman is a graduate of the Leadership Academy and has previously served as an assistant principal at Christenberry Elementary School. She joined the Knox County Schools in 2003 as a teacher at Dogwood Elementary School and also served for two years as President of the Knox County Education Association. Ms. Holman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology, a Master of Science degree in Child and Family Studies and an Education Specialist degree in Education Administration all conferred by the University of Tennessee.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Tanna Nicely is Appointed Principal at South Knoxville Elementary School
 
Tanna Nicely has been named Principal at South Knoxville Elementary School. Ms. Nicely is currently an assistant principal at Sarah Moore Green Magnet Technology Academy. She joined the Knox County Schools in 1991 as a kindergarten teacher at Powell Elementary School and has also taught at Sunnyview Primary School. Ms. Nicely also serves as a Curriculum and Instruction Facilitator and a Math Coach before entering school administration in 2008 as an assistant principal at Dogwood Elementary School.

Ms. Nicely holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Arts degree in Instructional Technology and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership all conferred by the University of Tennessee.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Tiffany Watkins is Appointed Principal at Fair Garden Family Community Center
 
Tiffany Watkins has been tapped as Principal at the Fair Garden Family Community Center. Ms. Watkins is a graduate of the Leadership Academy Class of 2013. She joined the Knox County Schools in 1995, teaching at the elementary-grade level at Ball Camp. She has also served at Hardin Valley Elementary as a first grade teacher and KCS Mentor Teacher. Ms. Watkins is currently serving as an assistant principal at Adrian Burnett Elementary School.

Ms. Watkins holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction both conferred by the University of Tennessee.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Kristi Woods is Appointed Principal at East Knox County Elementary School
 
Kristi Woods has been appointed Principal at East Knox County Elementary School. Ms. Woods is a graduate of the Leadership Academy Class of 2012. She is currently an assistant principal at Beaumont Magnet Honors Academy. Ms. Woods began her career as a teacher in Wilson County, Tennessee, in 1994 and has also taught in Warren County, Tennessee. She joined the Knox County Schools in 2002 as a teacher at East Knox County Elementary School and also served as an Instructional Coach and as an assistant principal at East Knox County Elementary prior to attending the Leadership Academy in 2011.

Ms. Woods holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science Education from Tennessee Wesleyan College, a Master of Science degree in Administration and Supervision from Middle Tennessee State University and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Shelly McGill is Appointed Principal at Pond Gap Elementary School
 
Shelly McGill has been appointed Principal at Pond Gap Elementary School. Ms. McGill is 2014 graduate of the Leadership Academy. She joined the Knox County Schools in 2006 as a kindergarten teacher at Brickey-McCloud Elementary School and, in addition to her Leadership Academy service as an assistant principal at Dogwood Elementary School, she has also served as an assistant principal at Carter Elementary School.

Ms. McGill holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Education both of which were conferred by the University of Tennessee. She has also holds an Education Specialist degree in Education Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Lisa Light is Appointed Principal at Gap Creek Elementary School
 
Lisa LightLisa Light has been named Principal at Gap Creek Elementary School. Ms. Light joined the Knox County Schools in 1998 as a special education consultant and was appointed Principal at Lonsdale Elementary School in 2002, where she served until 2013. Prior to joining the Knox County Schools, Ms. Light served for a number of years as a special education teacher in the Metropolitan Nashville Public School System. She has most recently been the Principal at Willow Brook Elementary School in the Oak Ridge School System.

Ms. Light holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Education degree from Middle Tennessee State University.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Susan Turner is Appointed as Executive Director of Elementary Education
 
Susan Turner Susan Turner has been appointed to the position of Executive Director of Elementary Education for the 2014-2015 school year. As you may recall, Ms. Turner retired from her position as an Elementary Supervisor in 2013. She has graciously consented to return to the Knox County Schools and serve in this very important position for one year as we transition our curricular supervisory structure to better support our school administrators.

In addition to her service as an Elementary Supervisor, Ms. Turner also served as the Principal at A. L. Lotts, Brickey-McCloud, Rocky Hill and Ball Camp Elementary Schools. She first joined the Knox County Schools in 1980 and has taught at both Rocky Hill Elementary School and Cedar Bluff Middle School. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Dr. Daphne Odom is Appointed Co-Principal at Beaumont Magnet Academy
 
Dr. Daphne Odom and Missy Beltran have been appointed as Co-Principals at Beaumont Magnet Academy for the 2014-2015 school year. They will share administrative responsibilities at the school for one year after which time Ms. Beltran will continue as the Principal at Beaumont and Dr. Odom will be appointed a regional supervisor as we reorganize our structure for supporting school principals.

Dr. Odom currently serves as the district Magnet and Gifted and Talented Supervisor. She joined the Knox County Schools in 1999 as a teacher at Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy, and she entered school administration in 2008 when she was appointed assistant principal at Beaumont Magnet Academy.

Dr. Odom holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education, an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education Leadership and Policy all conferred by the University of Tennessee.
 
 
 
Missy Beltran is Appointed Co-Principal at Beaumont Magnet Academy
 
Ms. Beltran began her career in education with the Baltimore County public schools where sheserved for 17 years. She joined the Knox County Schools in 2003 as a special education teacherat Brickey-McCloud Elementary School and has also served as a systemwide autism supportteacher and special education mentor teacher. She entered administration in 2012 when she wasappointed assistant principal at A.L. Lotts Elementary School.

Ms. Beltran holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from the University ofDelaware, and a Master of Science degree in Instructional Leadership from TennesseeTechnological University.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Michael Reynolds is appointed Principal at Central High School
 
Michael Reynolds Michael Reynolds has been appointed as Principal at Central High School. Mr. Reynolds has been the Principal at Farragut High School for a number of years. He began his teaching career at Knoxville Catholic High School and joined the Knox County Schools in 1989 as a social studies teacher at Farragut High School. Prior to his appointment as Principal at Farragut, Mr. Reynolds served as the Principal at Fulton High School.

Mr. Reynolds holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Science degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Jason Webster is appointed Principal at Gibbs High School
 
Jason Webster Jason Webster has been appointed as Principal at Gibbs High School. Mr. Webster is currently serving as an assistant principal at the L&N STEM Academy. He began his career with the Knox County Schools in 1998 as a teacher at the Richard Yoakley School. Mr. Webster has also served as a history and geography teacher at Halls High School and as an assistant principal at Halls High School.

Mr. Webster holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and a Master of Science degree in Secondary Education from the University of Tennessee, as well as an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Stephanie Thompson is appointed Interim Principal at Farragut High School
 
Stephanie Thompson Stephanie Thompson has been appointed as the new interim principal of Farragut High School beginning the 2014-2015 school year. Ms. Thompson has an excellent record as a high school administrator and has distinguished herself as an instructional leader at the high school level. Her most recent assignment was as Supervisor of Federal Programs for the district. Additionally, Ms. Thompson has served both as a teacher and administrator at the high school level.

Over the next several months, we will conduct a comprehensive search and selection process to appoint the long-term principal at Farragut High School. Ms. Thompson may be an applicant and potential candidate in that process.
