Knox County Schools Welcomes New Officers

On Dec. 16, 2014, the Knox County Schools hosted a commencement ceremony for its new cohort of school security officers. The 16 new officers were joined by family and friends for the commencement held at Fulton High School.

Randy Nichols, retired Knox County District Attorney General, delivered the keynote address and challenged the officers to engage with students in their schools to build rapport and earn students’ trust. Knox County Schools Chief of Security Gus Paidousis led the ceremony, and Knox County Board of Education Chair Mike McMillan provided celebratory remarks.

Chief Paidousis made a special presentation to Knoxville Police Department Chief David Rausch and Knox County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Eddie Biggs to recognize the partnership of the law enforcement agencies with the Knox County Schools’ Security.
