Parents & Students interested in the 2020/2021 GMS Cheerleading Year:
Thank you for being patient with us as we navigate beginning a new year of Cheerleading amidst COVID-19. As we enter into Phase II of Knox County Schools plan for COVID, we have been cleared to proceed with tryouts and the beginning phases of the cheer-year.
We are excited to announce that tryouts for GMS Cheer will take place July 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th, with formal tryouts being held on Friday, July 17th. We will follow the same format we outlined in our information packets and reviewed at the mandatory parent meetings held on March 6th and 12th. Meaning, July 13th, 14th, and 15th from 4:30-6:30 will be required clinic days, while July 16th will be an optional day for candidates to receive additional help and troubleshooting. July 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 formal tryouts. All girls should arrive no later than 4:45 and plan to stay until all candidates have had the opportunity to try out. In keeping with KCHD guidelines and to ensure privacy for candidates, both clinic days and tryouts will be closed.
Please follow the link to our website for answers to any questions regarding KCHD and KCS guidelines for COVID-19 and summer activities. We will be strictly adhering to the guidelines and expectations set in place by KCS and the KCHS.
Additionally, please fill out the google form linked below! We look forward to seeing each and every one of you and are excited for a new year of GMS cheer!
