Preschool Think- Abouts For Re-Opening School In Knox County

Greetings Fair Garden Families,

I wanted to keep you in the loop of what’s happening in Knox County Schools. Currently, Knox County Schools is having discussions about a reopening plan for fall 2020. You should have received an email a few weeks ago giving you an opportunity to provide your feedback on a survey link. If you haven’t provided your feedback yet, I hope you will take time to do so before the deadline.

As we think about re-opening school in the fall of 2020 in Knox County, I need your assistance please immediately with the youngest scholars in the district, our Fair Garden PK3 and PK4 students. Below you will find ways you can help us prepare our precious students for this new normal in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for beginning to talk to your child about how school could be different, when they return in the future. Remember, we are a family.

  1. Talk to your child about the importance of covering their mouths and noses with their arm when they need to cough or sneeze so others don’t get sick.
  2. Continuously practice how to wash their hands properly (a minimum of 20 seconds).
  3. Practice social distancing daily throughout your daily routines at home and wearing a face mask when you are out in public for students 3 and older. Here’s links to helpful age appropriate videos and pictures to help you explain social distancing and talk freely with your child about healthy habits now.  (video is at the bottom of the page). a mask)

  1. Please encourage your child to share his or her emotions with you at home and our school staff will do the same, while they are at school. We want the best for our students.
  2. Please do not send your child to school sick with a fever.

Warm regards,

Tara Spikes (Your Fair Garden Principal)
