2021 Summer Reading

School-Wide Summer Reading

Every summer, Farragut High School has a reading list for summer reading for all of our students.  Typically, we ask students to pick a book out of a list of books; however, this year we are limiting the book selection to facilitate a focused discussion throughout our 2021-2022 school year.  Therefore, please see the assigned school-wide summer reading:

Incoming 9th grade students:  The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey

All other current Farragut High School students:  Sometimes You Win--Sometimes You Learn for Teens: How to Turn a Loss into a Win by John C. Maxwell

In addition to our school-wide read, if your student is in Honors or AP English there is specific summer reading for your student.  Please see the list below and the attachments for complete explanations of their grade level assignments: FHS 9H Outside Reading 2021-2022.pdf FHS 10H Outside Reading 2021-2022.pdf FHS 11 AP Lang Outside Reading 2021-2022.pdf FHS 12 AP Lit Reading 2021-2022.pdf

English 9 Honors: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

English 10 Honors: A Raisin in the Sun by Lorainne Hansberry
