It's Coupon Book Time
The KCS Coupon Book Campaign kicked off today with the theme Staying Strong Together. Despite the challenges we are facing this year, I know we can pull together and have a successful coupon book sale.
Students are bringing home support packets to help them sell coupon books. I have attached the materials to the accompanying email, and you can find them on our website. Our goal is to sell 800 books, and we are asking each student to commit to selling at least 2 books. The books cost $10 and the school gets to keep $8 for every book sold. That is a tremendous return. The money will be used to support instructional materials, PBIS incentives, and technology in the classroom. The campaign will run through Fall Break to Thursday, October 22.
We have some great incentives for students even when they sell their first book. For starters, students will receive a sticker for every book they sell. Every student that sells 10 books will receive a long sleeve, KCS Coupon Book T-Shirt and a colorful keyboard cover for their Chromebook. Also, the top boy and girl seller in each grade level will win a Hydro Flask water bottle! The top seller in the school will win a Nintendo Switch!
The books are full of coupons that can be used at businesses throughout Knox County along with a Sevier County section. A full list of vendors has been sent home and can be found on the accompanying email. The book pays for itself after using just a few of the many coupons.
We hope you will support your child in selling at least 2 coupon books for the school. Learning to approach and influence others is an important life skill that develops confidence; the KCS Coupon Book sale is a great way to help teach these skills to your child. An adult should always accompany your children if they decide to sell books in the neighborhood.
Finally, this year, you can order books online through the School Cash Online system (knoxschools.schoolcashonline.com). This is a great way for our virtual families and others to order books. Orders will come to our school and we will fill the orders. Campus students will take the books home with them and virtual students can pick coupon books up from our office window during office hours from 7:15-3:00 during the week.
We look forward to a great campaign!
