2020-2021 Administrative Appointments
Freddie Cox Appointed Chief Technology OfficerFreddie Cox has been appointed chief technology officer effective January 2021. Mr. Cox joined Knox County Schools in 2008 as a school technology specialist.
Mr. Cox was named KCS systems administrator in 2011 and in 2016, he was named IT infrastructure manager, a position he currently serves.
Mr. Cox holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee and is credentialed as a Certified Education Technology Leader.

Stephanie Prince Appointed Principal of Adrian Burnett Elementary SchoolStephanie Prince has been appointed principal of Adrian Burnett Elementary School effective September 2020. Ms. Prince joined Knox County Schools in 2006 as a teacher at Brickey-McCloud Elementary School.
Ms. Prince also worked as an instructional coach at Rocky Hill Elementary. She was selected to be part of the Leadership Academy in 2014 and placed at Christenberry Elementary as an assistant principal. She has also worked as an assistant principal at West Haven and an assistant principal Adrian Burnett Elementary, where she currently serves.
Ms. Prince holds a bachelor's degree in History, a master's degree in Elementary Education and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, all from the University of Tennessee.

Anne Riley Appointed Principal of Carter Elementary SchoolAnne Riley has been appointed principal of Carter Elementary School effective August 2020. Dr. Riley joined Knox County Schools in 2015 as assistant principal at Carter Elementary School.
Dr. Riley previously worked as a teacher at Blount County Schools and at Williamson County Schools. She also worked as an adjunct professor at Tusculum College. She began her career in administration as an assistant principal Carter Elementary, where she served until the beginning of this school year when she was placed at Lonsdale Elementary as an assistant principal.
Dr. Riley holds a bachelor's degree in Education from Middle Tennessee State University, as well as a master's degree Educational Leadership and a doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction and Instructional Leadership, both from Lincoln Memorial University.

Jennifer Garrett Appointed QuEST Virtual Learning Principal for K-6Jennifer Garrett has been QuEST virtual learning principal for grades K-6 effective July 2020. Ms. Garrett joined Knox County Schools in 1998 as a teacher at Karns Elementary School.
Ms. Garrett also served as a TPaCK technology coach at Sterchi Elementary. She was selected to be part of the Leadership Academy in 2016 and placed at Dogwood Elementary School as an assistant principal. She worked as campus manager at Paul Kelley Volunteer Academy and as an assistant principal at L&N STEM Academy. She is currently principal at Paul Kelley.
Ms. Garrett holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee.

Leanne Hawn Appointed QuEST Virtual Learning Principal for 7-12Leanne Hawn has been QuEST virtual learning principal for grades 7-12 effective July 2020. Ms. Hawn joined Knox County Schools in 2006 as a teacher at Fulton High School.
Ms. Hawn began her career in administration in 2011, when she was named assistant principal at Fulton High. In 2016, she was named principal of Career Magnet Academy, where she currently serves.
Ms. Hawn holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a master's degree in Mathematics Education, both from the University of Tennessee. She also holds an Instructional Leadership degree from Tennessee Technological University.

Meagan Booth Appointed Principal of Paul Kelley Volunteer AcademyMeagan Booth has been principal of Paul Kelley Volunteer Academy effective July 2020. Ms. Booth joined Knox County Schools in 2009 as a teacher at Halls High School.
Ms. Booth started her teaching career with Greenville County Schools in South Carolina. She has taught at Halls High and Powell High schools and worked as a numeracy coach at Green Magnet Academy. In 2016, she was named assistant principal and athletic director of Halls High School. Ms. Booth is currently an assistant principal at Karns High School.
Ms. Booth holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina, a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee.

Matthew Mosley Appointed Principal of Career Magnet AcademyMatthew Mosley has been appointed principal of Career Magnet Academy effective July 2020. Mr. Mosley joined Knox County Schools in 2012 as a teacher at Fulton High School.
Mr. Mosley began his career as a web developer. At Fulton High, he taught web design and later served as a magnet facilitator. In 2017, Mr. Mosley joined Karns High School's Byington Solway CTE Center as a College and Career Coach and an Administrator Assistant. He became Dean of Students at Career Magnet in 2018 and now serves as an assistant principal at South-Doyle High School.
Mr. Mosley holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University, and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Carson-Newman University.

Ashley Ketner Appointed Principal of K.A.E.C.Ashley Ketner has been appointed principal of Knoxville Adapter Education Center. (K.A.E.C.) effective July 2020. Ms. Ketner joined Knox County Schools in 2004 as a program facilitator at K.A.E.C., where she has continued to work for the last 16 years.
Ms. Ketner previously worked as a team leader in the Helen Ross McNabb Center's Bridges program. At K.A.E.C., she has supervised the K-8 program, and she currently supervises the high school intervention program. In 2016, Ms. Ketner also became principal of the Night Alternative Program at K.A.E.C., which is now located at Byington Solway.
Ms. Ketner holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Centre College in Kentucky, a Special Education teaching license from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Carson Newman University.

Daniel Champion Appointed Principal of Whittle Springs Middle SchoolDaniel Champion has been appointed principal of Whittle Springs Middle School effective July 2020. Mr. Champion joined Knox County Schools in 2003 as a teacher at Knoxville Adaptive Education Center (K.A.E.C.).
Mr. Champion has worked as a teacher in Loudon County as well as at Karns Middle School and Vine Middle Magnet, where he was also a TAP master teacher. He began his career in administration in 20 I 5 as an assistant principal at Vine Middle Magnet and later assistant principal at Gresham Middle School and Ridgedale Alternative. He is currently principal of K.A.E.C.
Mr. Champion holds a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Tennessee, Martin.

Michelle Harper Appointed Principal of Mount Olive Elementary SchoolMichelle Harper has been appointed principal of Mount Olive Elementary School effective July 2020. Ms. Harper joined Knox County Schools in 2004 after working 14 years as a teacher in Kentucky.
Ms. Harper taught at Blue Grass Elementary for eight years before serving as an instructional coach at the school. She began her career in administration when she was named in 2016 assistant principal at Blue Grass, where she currently serves.
Ms. Harper holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky, a master's degree in Elementary Education from Georgetown College, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.

Joann Bost Appointed Principal of Northwest Middle SchoolJoann Bost has been appointed principal of Northwest Middle School effective July 2020. Ms. Bost joined Knox County Schools in 2000 upon graduating from Carson-Newman University.
Ms. Bost taught at Whittle Springs Middle School for eight years before joining Project GRAD Knoxville. She worked as a math coach at Carter Middle School and a master teacher at South-Doyle Middle School prior to being appointed assistant principal at Carter Middle School. In 2017, she was named principal of Whittle Springs Middle School, where she currently serves.
Ms. Bost holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Carson-Newman University and a master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.
