Amelia Baker Appointed Interim Principal at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School
 
Amelia Baker has been appointed interim principal of Pleasant Ridge Elementary School effective December 20, 2018. Ms. Baker joined Knox County Schools in 2010 as a counselor at Central High School and later South-Doyle Middle School.
 
Ms. Baker previously worked as a teacher at Maryville City Schools and Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools. She began her career in administration in 2012 as an assistant principal at South-Doyle Middle School and later assistant principal at Northwest Middle. She is currently assistant principal at Pleasant Ridge.
 
Ms. Baker holds a bachelor's degree in English from Maryville College, a master's degree in School Counseling from the University of Tennessee and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration from Lincoln Memorial University.

Daniel Champion Appointed Principal of Knoxville Adaptive Education Center
 
Daniel Champion has been appointed principal of Knoxville Adaptive Education Center (K.A.E.C.) effective July 2018. Mr. Champion joined Knox County Schools in 2003 as a teacher at K.A.E.C.
 
Mr. Champion has worked as a teacher in Loudon County as well as at Karns Middle School and Vine Middle Magnet, where he was also a TAP master teacher. He began his career in administration in 2015 as an assistant principal at Vine Middle and later assistant principal at Gresham Middle School. He is currently assistant principal at Ridgedale Alternative.
 
Mr. Champion holds a bachelor's degree in History from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Tennessee, Martin.

Jason Myers Appointed Principal of Bearden High School
 
Jason Myers has been appointed principal of Bearden High School effective July 2018. Mr. Myers joined Knox County Schools in 2008 as a teaching assistant at Fulton High School.
 
Mr. Myers has also served as a special education teacher and lead teacher. He began his career in administration in 2013 as an administrative assistant and later assistant principal at West High School. He is currently principal of Knoxville Adaptive Education Center (K.A.E.C.).
 
Mr. Myers holds a bachelor's degree in History and a master's degree in Special Education, both from the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Elizabeth Howard Appointed Principal of Powell Middle School
 
Dr. Elizabeth Howard has been appointed principal of Powell Middle School effective July 2018. Dr. Howard joined Knox County Schools in 2008 as assistant principal of Hardin Valley Academy.
 
Before joining Knox County Schools, Dr. Howard worked as a math teacher in Florida and Kentucky for more than eight years. She has also served as an assistant principal at West Valley Middle School and currently is an assistant principal at Farragut High School.
 
Dr. Howard holds an associate's degree in Education from Southeast Community College and a bachelor's degree in Education from Union College, as well as a master's degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision and a doctorate degree, both from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.

Brent Glenn Appointed Princial of Karns Middle School
 
Brent Glenn has been appointed principal of Karns Middle School effective July 2018. Mr. Glenn joined Knox County Schools in 1997 as a teacher at Halls Middle School.
 
Mr. Glenn has also served as a teacher and a TAP Master and Mentor Teacher at Carter High School. He was selected to be part of the Leadership Academy in 2015 and placed at Hardin Valley Academy as an assistant principal. He has also served as an assistant principal at Career Magnet Academy and is currently an assistant principal at Austin East High School.
 
Mr. Glenn holds a bachelor's degree in English Literature, a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an Education Specialist degree in Administration, all from the University of Tennessee.

April Partin Appointed Principal of Shannondale Elementary School
 
April Partin has been appointed principal of Shannondale Elementary School effective July 2018. Ms. Partin joined Knox County Schools in 2001 as a teacher at A.L. Lotts Elementary School.
 
Ms. Partin taught several years at A.L. Lotts and served as a lead teacher. She began her career in administration in 2012 when she was appointed assistant principal at A.L. Lotts. She also served as an assistant principal at Green Magnet Academy. She was selected to be part of the Leadership Academy in 2017 and placed at Karns Elementary School as an assistant principal, where she currently serves.
 
Ms. Partin holds a bachelor's degree in Communications and a master's degree in Elementary Education, both from the University of Tennessee, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. She is working this summer toward another Education Specialist degree in Administration from the University of Tennessee.

Dexter Murphy Appointed Principal of Maynard Elementary School
 
Dexter Murphy has been appointed principal of Maynard Elementary School effective July 2018. Mr. Murphy joined Knox County Schools in 2009 as a teacher at Pond Gap Elementary School.
 
Mr. Murphy was selected to be part of the Leadership Academy in 2013 and placed at Vine Middle School as an assistant principal. He also served as an assistant principal at Sarah Moore Greene Academy and principal of Green Magnet Academy. He is currently the Upper School Dean at Emerald Academy.
 
Mr. Murphy holds a bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Tennessee, a master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of Tennessee.

Dr. John Bartlett Appointed Supervisor of Secondary Education
 
Dr. John Bartlett appointed as Supervisor of Secondary Education effective July 2018.
 
Dr. Bartlett joined Knox County Schools in 2008 as principal of Bearden High School, where he has served the last 10 years. Previously, he was principal of Loudon County High School and worked as a teacher in Bledsoe County. Prior to entering the education field, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for 12 years.
 
Dr. Bartlett holds a bachelor's degree in History from Tennessee Temple University, and a master's degree in Instructional Leadership and an Educational Specialist degree, both from Tennessee Tech University. He also has a doctorate degree in Educational Administration from Liberty University.

Christopher Deal Appointed Principal of Lonsdale Elementary School
 
Christopher Deal has been appointed principal of Lonsdale Elementary School effective July 2018. Mr. Deal joined Knox County Schools in 2012 as a teacher at Hardin Valley Elementary School.
 
Mr. Deal taught fifth grade at Hardin Valley Elementary and served as a lead teacher. He previously was a teacher in North Carolina and Florida for eleven years. He was selected to be part of the Leadership Academy in 2014 and placed at Dogwood Elementary School as an assistant principal, where he currently serves.
 
Mr. Deal holds an associate's degree in Liberal Arts from Indian River Community College, a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Florida Atlantic University, a master's degree in Reading from Nova Southeastern University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from the University of Tennessee.

Megan O'Dell Appointed Principal of Brickey-McCloud Elementary School
 
Megan O'Dell has been appointed principal of Brickey-McCloud Elementary School effective July 2018. Ms. O'Dell joined Knox County Schools in 2004 as a teacher at East Knox County Elementary School. Ms. O'Dell has also served as a teacher at Sunnyview Primary School, a TAP Master Teacher at Sarah Moore Greene Elementary School and a Curriculum Coach at South Knoxville Elementary School.
 
She began her career in administration in 2012 when she was appointed assistant principal at Brickey-McCloud. She was selected to be part of the Leadership Academy in 2013 and placed at Northshore Elementary School as an assistant principal. She is currently the principal at Shannondale Elementary School.
 
Ms. O'Dell holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Carson-Newman University, a master's degree in Education from Tusculum College and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Tennessee.

Deborah Adorante Appointed Principal of Farragut Intermediate School
 
Deborah Adorante has been appointed principal of Farragut Intermediate School effective July 1, 2018. Ms. Adorante joined Knox County Schools in 2000 and has taught at Hardin Valley Elementary, Karns Primary and Bluegrass Elementary.
 
Ms. Adorante has worked as a teacher in a variety of school settings in Tennessee and South Carolina including public, private and Department of Defense. She served as a Knox County Schools curriculum facilitator and instructional coach until 2012 when she was appointed assistant principal at Farragut Intermediate, where she currently serves.
 
Ms. Adorante holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Educational Leadership/Supervision and Administration, both from East Tennessee State University.
