Online Payment System Changes for School Cafeterias
The Knox County Schools has moved to a new system to fund student breakfast and lunch accounts – moving away from PayPams to k12paymentcenter.com. This move brings greater control to parents when viewing student meal and account balances.
Please note that a new account will need to be created for K12paymentcenter - visit K12PaymentCenter for instructions on establishing a new account. After an account is created, your child will need to be added. To add your child or children, please use the student ID which is different than the serving number that a student would use to purchase a meal.
All balances from last school year will remain on your child’s account. The Knox County Schools holds the balance on all accounts. Third party vendors never hold the balance of any KCS student. The balance could take 24-48 hours to update after the account is first created. Until that happens, $0.00 will be displayed. As with our former PayPams system, email and phone notifications will be sent to parents who have negative cafeteria balances within the next 1-2 weeks. If you have any questions at all, please call the Knox County Schools Nutrition Department at 865-594-3640 or by email at childnutrition@knoxschools.org.
