    Below are some common Q & As (so far) from Seniors in the College & Career Center as you near graduation...
    1. How do I order my final transcript?

    > Go to: BHS website - School Counseling - College & Career Center - Sending Transcripts - Order Records (this takes you to the Parchment site) - New or Existing Learner Account - Dashbord: order your transcript & follow steps - Before submitting, choose HOLD FOR GRADES (this tells us to wait until final grades are in)

    2. How do I send my DE transcript to the college I’ll be attending?

    > Go to the PSCC website. Click on the College Services tab.  From the drop down menu, select Records.

    Scroll to the very bottom to find Request Transcript information.

    Follow the directions (request in your myPellissippi account).

    3. Is the Senior Exit Form required for graduation?

    > Yes! Click HERE to fill out and submit by MAY 3rd.


  • Susan G Hinton Memorial Scholarship – BHS PTSO

    This scholarship is given in memory of Susan G. Hinton, a devoted wife, mother, and volunteer in our school and community who passed away suddenly in 1997. Susan G. Hinton exemplified the volunteer spirit and made a distinct difference everywhere she served.

    The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize the efforts of a Bearden high school senior who has made a difference in his or her school and community through volunteer service and to assist that student with his or her qualified education expenses in the amount of $500.00.

    Eligibility Guidelines:

    • Graduating senior of Bearden High School who will enroll in an eligible educational institution
    • Grade point average of 2.0 or above at Bearden High School at the time of this application
    • Performed volunteer service at Bearden High School and in the community during his or her high school years

    The applicant must complete the application, provide a letter of recommendation, provide proof of GPA, and write a one page essay following the prompts in the application packet. The application also requires both student and parent signatures.

    Application packets can be picked up in the College & Career Center.

    Deadline:  April 19, 2019

  • BHS Foundation Scholarships

    The Bearden High School Foundation offers several scholarships for graduating seniors: Creative Arts Scholarship, Achiever Scholarship, Technichal Scholarship, Buddy Heins Servant Leader Scholarship, and the Bartlett Striver Scholarship. The first four are valued at $500 each. The Striver Schoalrship winner(s) will be awarded a laptop. For more info on these scholarships, check out the BHS Scholarship Book (on the College & Career announcement page under "Scholarships, Scholarships, Scholarships" to the left).

    Stop by the College & Career Center (next to Guidance) to pick up an application.

    Paid Summer Internship Opportunity to Learn About Teaching

    Internship Highlights

    When: June 2019, from 8am-1pm each weekday for 4 weeks

    What: An internship to learn about STEM teaching - you will teach
    and learn under the guidance of mentor teachers and UT faculty

    Previous Experiecne: No experience necessary - an interest in teaching is expected

    Who: Graduating high school seniors (who intend to enroll in Community College this summer or Fall)
    or current Community College students

    Internship pay: $1000
