Age Requirement for Kindergarten
A child entering kindergarten shall be no less than five (5) years of age on or before August 15, 2017 to enter school for the 2017-2018 school year. No child shall be eligible to enter first grade without having attended an approved kindergarten program.
How do I enroll my child?
A parent or legal guardian must enroll the student at the zoned school. If you do not know the school to which you are zoned, use this link to find your school zone. Complete the Enrollment and Emergency Forms and any other school specific paperwork.
You will need the following information to enroll any new student:
What about my child's previous school records?
- A birth certificate or officially acceptable proof of birth date
- Proof of up-to-date immunizations and of a health/physical examination, recorded on a Tennessee Child Health Record completed by a medical provider or County Health Department. The health/physical examination must have been completed within the past year. No student will be enrolled or allowed to attend school without a completed Tennessee School Immunization Certificate.
- Proof of residency within the school zone.
You will need to provide the name of the former school and address. You do not need to bring records with you. We will request them for you.
