PRESCHOOLS

Within Knox County Schools, there are four stand-alone preschool sites which exist outside of the regional structure. This organizational structure better supports their unique administrative, educational, and operational needs while enabling a more focused and efficient system for the professional development of educators and instruction of children. Region One

Region One schools are located along or near Kingston Pike and Westland Avenue or their connectors. To contact the Region 1 office, call (865) 594-1710.

Region Two

Region Two schools are located north of Interstate 40 and in the land area between the Clinch and Tennessee Rivers. To contact the Region 2 office, call (865) 594-1710.

Region Three

Region Three schools are located between the Holston and French Broad Rivers. To contact the Region 3 office, call (865) 594-1755.

Region four

Region Four schools are located in communities connected by Beaver Creek. To contact the Region 4 office, call (865) 594-1755.

Region five

Region Five schools are located inside the city limits, north of the Tennessee River and are some of the most historic in the county. 

Elementary and middle schools in this region feed into Austin-East and Fulton high schools. In fall 2022, Knox County Schools partnered with a third-party consultant, Kitamba, to help develop a strategic plan aimed at improving outcomes for every student in Region 5. Guided by community input, data analysis, and targeted research, The Region 5 Way was created. This five-year action plan outlines a clear set of goals, metrics, and milestones across the district’s four priority areas. Learn more about the plan here.
