KCS serves approximately 60,000 students and is committed to preparing every student for life after graduation–beginning in preschool and kindergarten.
Knox County Schools is a data rich environment. District, school, and classroom leaders–even students–regularly use data to inform real-time and long-range decisions.
This page is intended to serve as a resource to the Knox County community by providing access to our most commonly requested data files.
When exploring the data available here, it’s important to note that every number tells a story and that data without context is only a fraction of that story.
Every year, KCS publishes an Annual Report to contextualize outcomes and provide insight into how resources and strategies are being leveraged to increase student achievement.
KCS Annual Reports
Every October, the Knox County Board of Education approves an Annual Action Plan to serve as a one-year roadmap with intentional strategies and target objectives to move forward each of the district’s four priorities: Excellence in Foundational Skills, Great Educators in Every School, Career Empowerment and Preparation, and Success for Every Student.
The KCS Annual Report is published each January to report on progress made on the prior year’s Annual Action Plan, highlighting achievements as well as opportunities for improvement.
