FY 2027 Budget

Upcoming Budget

Knox County Schools is delivering results, and this year's budget reflects why.

Following four consecutive years of academic growth and recognition as an Advancing District, KCS continues to prove that when resources are aligned to what works, students succeed.

The FY27 General Purpose, Capital Improvement, and School Nutrition budgets build on that momentum. At $717.7 million, the General Purpose Budget reflects modest growth in a year shaped by declining enrollment, tighter revenue, and rising costs—requiring disciplined decisions and strategic reallocation of resources.

Even with these constraints, KCS remains focused on its top priority: investing in people. By protecting the classroom and aligning every dollar to core priorities, this budget continues to support great educators, strengthen academic programs, and minimize impact for every student.
