Mrs. Fischbach accepted the position as assistant principal in August 2022. She’s “buzzing” with excitement to work alongside Mrs. Baker and the Carter Elementary staff and to get to know the families that are the foundation of this well established community.
Mrs. Fischbach graduated high school just down the road at South-Doyle High. She furthered her education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Lincoln Memorial University. She has worked in Knox County Schools for twenty-two years, serving as an elementary and middle school teacher in several capacities. She has taught K-7th grade, including special education and science, and has served in numerous leadership positions at the school, district, and state level. Mrs. Fischbach shares and supports Mrs. Baker’s belief that teaching is the most important work, and she is committed to fostering excellent teachers in every classroom. These core values are the foundation to ensure all Carter Elementary Hornets learn, improve, and strive to be the best.
In her personal time, Mrs. Fischbach enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and serving others in her community. She is married to John, Creative Director at Visual Voice in Maryville.
